Chief Administrative Officer

The Chief Administrative Officer directs the planning, coordination and control of all municipal operations in accordance with the objectives, policies and plans approved by Council. The CAO reports directly to Council and acts as their primary policy advisor.
The Chief Administrative Officer's responsibilities include:
- recommending goals, objectives, policies and programs;
- directing the implementation of and monitoring the progress of goals, objectives, policies and programs;
- coordinating departmental activities;
- directing the development of budgets and financial controls;
- directing personnel administration, within Council policies;
- ensuring prompt and proper handling of all requests, inquires, and complaints by the public; and
- acting as a liaison between Council and the public.
Deputy Chief Administrative Officer & Director of Corporate Administration

The Deputy CAO & Director of Corporate Administration’s responsibilities include:
- preparing agendas and ensuring accurate minutes of Council meeting;
- ensuring that the minutes, bylaws, and other records maintained and kept safe;
- ensuring access to records of Council as required;
- Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy request;
- administering oaths and taking affirmations, affidavits, and declarations as required;
- certifying copies of bylaws and other documents;
- administering municipal elections and public referenda;
- scheduling Council meetings;
- overseeing bylaw enforcement;
- providing highly effective advice and support regarding policies and strategies;
- civic protocol, including arrangements for civic events; and
- representing the Chief Administrative Officer in their absence.
